IR 36/64 Rice
Oryza sativa L. — long grain white & parboiled
IR64 is the reference long grain of the bulk trade — roughly 6.0 mm, available raw or parboiled, and quoted against broken percentage the same way Swarna is. The parameter buyers under-specify and then argue about is chalky grains, held here at 4% maximum: chalk affects both appearance and milling yield, and it is the most common reason a shipment gets contested on arrival. Purity runs 95–98% by grade, moisture 14% maximum, foreign matter 0.5% maximum. Principal destinations are West and East Africa, the Philippines, Indonesia and the Gulf, where it moves as bulk trade material for repacking rather than as a branded retail line.
