Hulled sesame is specified over natural seed wherever appearance after baking matters — the hull is removed, so the kernel toasts to an even colour instead of scorching dark. That also removes the seed’s natural barrier, which is why free fatty acid and peroxide value matter more here than on unhulled seed and why we re-verify them on any lot held beyond about nine months. Buyers going into the UK or EU for direct human consumption should note the aflatoxin ceiling that applies is B1 ≤ 2.0 µg/kg and total ≤ 4.0 µg/kg — not the looser limit written for oilseed destined for further sorting or crushing. Salmonella is a listed hazard for Indian sesame at GB border control, so consignments ship against a 25 g absence result. Loads cube out at roughly 17–19 MT per 20ft before they weigh out.
